GP Referrals

Refer a patient for online counselling

We welcome referrals from general practitioners, within our team we have both telehealth psychologists and psychiatrists. You can send a patient referral and mental health care plan via fax to 03 8676 4903.  Upon receipt of your referral, our team will advise you that the referral is received and following our assessment, we will send you a treatment outline. Follow up letters are sent regularly to keep you well informed and you are welcome to contact us any time should you wish for further information from the clinician.

Within the team, we have educational, clinical, counselling and forensic psychologists. We also have online psychiatrist appointments available. If you would like the referral sent to a particular team member please specify this. Alternatively, we can also make a recommendation and match the patient with the best person the team to assist.

What funding is available?

Telehealth Psychologists

For patients located in regional or remote Australia funding is available through the Medicare Better Access Scheme. For Psychology appointments, patients can claim a rebate between $86.15 and $126.50 for each session. The client is responsible for the gap payment fee (which is between $45 and $65). A sliding scale is used for low-income earners.

Telehealth Psychiatrists

We currently have no waiting list for Psychiatry referrals. Our psychiatrist is able to provide a management plan for GP’s and follow up reports. Both the first appointment and one follow up appointment with the psychiatrist is bulk billed. Our psychiatrists are able to assess for Adult ADHD and work closely with the GP to implement any pharmaceutical prescriptions. Currently, residents of regional and remote Australia can utilise medicare funding for telehealth psychiatry.
