Meet Denise Hostin, a highly experienced Registered Psychologist and accredited supervisor with AHPRA. With an impressive 25-year career spanning private practice, not-for-profit organizations, and government agencies in both Australia and Brazil, Denise brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her clients.
Denise’s academic journey includes an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Leadership from UTAS. She is well-versed in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, EMDR, and professional supervision.
Denise is passionate about continuous learning and implementing evidence-based practices to help her clients overcome challenges and thrive. She specializes in working with adolescents (and their parents) and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues. Additionally, she supports clients facing relationship and work-related difficulties, including Workcover clients.
Fluent in both English and Portuguese, Denise understands the complexities of emigration and offers valuable support to those navigating the challenges of moving to a new country, finding employment, and overcoming language and cultural barriers.
As a clinical supervisor for the past nine years, Denise has been dedicated to mentoring and up-skilling fellow psychologists and counsellors. She finds this exchange of knowledge and experiences incredibly rewarding and stimulating.
