Dr Chandni Prakash has worked as a psychiatrist for 30 years. Chandni received an MBBS from Delhi University, India, and MD (Psychiatry) from the Prestigious All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India in 1993. She moved to Auckland, New Zealand in 1997 and has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the public sector in community and in-patient settings. She is an affiliate member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) and an International Fellow of the American Psychiatry Association (APA).
Chandni is trained in various psychological therapies which include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
Chandni is actively involved in teaching and is an honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Auckland. She has numerous publications in scientific journals.
