Refer a patient for online counselling
We welcome referrals from general practitioners. Within our team at Positive Mind Works, we have both telehealth psychologists and psychiatrists. You can send a patient referral and mental health care plan via fax to 03 9492 7262. Upon receipt of your referral, our team will advise you that the referral is received and following our assessment, we will send you a treatment outline. Follow-up letters are sent regularly to keep you well informed. However, you are welcome to contact us at any time should you wish for further information from the clinician.
Within our team, we have educational, clinical, counselling and forensic psychologists. We also have online psychiatrist appointments available. If you would like the referral sent to a particular team member please specify this. Alternatively, we can also make a recommendation and match the patient with the best person the team to assist.
WHAT FUNDING IS AVAILABLE?
Telehealth Psychologists
For all patients eligible for Medicare in Australia, funding is available through the Medicare Better Access Scheme.
For Psychology appointments, patients can claim a Medicare rebate between $87.45 and $126.50 for each session. The client is responsible for the gap payment fee (which is between $49 and $67).

Telehealth Psychiatrists
We currently have no waiting list for Psychiatry referrals. Our psychiatrists are able to provide a management plan for GP’s (291) and ongoing management (296) including follow up reports. Our rates are based on AMA rates and patients can receive Medicare rebates. Click here to learn more about our psychiatry fees.
Our psychiatrists are able to assess for Adult ADHD and work closely with the GP to implement any pharmaceutical prescriptions. If you have any concerns about patient eligibility please get in touch with the Positive Mind Works team for further information.
